Revamp characters are characters that take on monikers of previous heroes but have no history with said heroes. Usually they are new spins on a name/franchise, a set of powers or particular attributes intended to revitalize the name/franchise.
Not to be confused with reboots of characters (i.e. Crisis, The New 52) or "Legacy" characters who adopt monikers of previous heroes given a certain history.
