Review[]
The Penguin is a uniquely sculpted figure that is a welcome and, some say, overdue addition to the Mattel 6″ collection. He is designed to be a much smaller figure than the rest of the 6″ scale figures. His short stocky frame contains less articulation of course. The tough material of his suit, covering the hip articulation hinders it, however, so there may not be poses of flying Penguin with legs up in the air. Originally the Penguin figure was to have a second packaged variant, one containing a packed-in robot Penguin figure. However, the idea was shelved. Mattel did say that we may see the robot figure again sometime in the future.
For discriminating Mint-On-Card collectors, please note that there are also two packaging variants of ALL DCUC wave one figures, one that lists the Batman figure on the back of the card as ‘Crime Solver Batman’ and another that lists it as ‘Classic Detective Batman’.
