This is Superman in his basic look. Superman was released as part of the Original Justice League line with a base interlocking with the six other leaguers. He was released again with armor as part of the Attack Armor series and then included with the Javelin 7
Collectors generally prefer this original sculpt as it stays truer to the original model sheet whereas the new sculpt sacrifices the leg form for a wider stance and the joints really divert from the original look. The fact that the new sculpt is about .5cm shorter does not help either with it being short alongside the Batman figure even in its new sculpt.
Mattel at first didn't seem to express any interest in releasing any of its male 1st series sculpts, but later redid the figure as Superman 1 ver 7.
